Despite City's good total they were unable to
convert runs into points as the rains came and ruined an excellent
opportunity to go back to the top of the table. Ashan Ali led the
way with 88 and Dave Brueilly and George Nelson chipped in with
fine supporting roles as City racked up the runs. The draw leaves
us 3rd in Division One, 16 points behind Great Brickhill.
Saturday 2nd XI
Wing
Milton Keynes City 218 for 7
Wing 110 all out
City won by 108 runs
No such problems for seconds who grabbed all thirty
points and climbed to the top of Division Five. Three City batsmen
were guilty of jug avoidance as Robinson (49), Moodley (45) and
Pete Brown (41) contributed to City's total after a edgy start.
Dave Loveland also added 31. The hosts were skittled for just 110
giving City all the points. Six of City's seven bowlers took
wickets the most impressive being Browny who gave up just 2 runs
from his four overs.
