Match details from the weekend

Saturday 14th July & Sunday 15th July 2007

Saturday 1st XI
Willen Road
Newport Pagnell 184 for 7
Milton Keynes City 185 for 6
City won by 4 wickets
City remained in the hunt for honours this year with a crucial 4 wicket win away at Newport Pagnell. Mo Shahid was the pick of the bowlers as City restricted the hosts to 184 for 7. Three useful knocks gave City the win as Abid Hussain (44*), Russ Heady (36) and Raj Lall (34) saw us home.

Saturday 2nd XI
Woughton on the Green
Milton Keynes City 134 all out
Olney Town 70 all out
City won by 64 runs
It was more convincing for the two's as they dismissed Olney at Woughton. Asked to bat first City posted what looked like a insecure total of 134. Many players got in and got out again, but Dave Loveland top scored with 25 and skipper Cas Quarrie chipped in with 22 batting at number ten. Olney were truly terrible, six batsmen were out for nought and extras top scored with 36. The visitors skittled for 70.

Sunday 2nd XI
Woughton on the Green
Milton Keynes City 140 for 7
Wolverton Town 97 for 2
Wolverton won by 8 wickets (reduced target)
In a rain interuppted match, City were beaten by old enemies Wolverton Town again. Jason Loveland and Raj Lall made 35 and 34 respectively but it did not look enough. Wolverton's target was reduced as the rains came and they coasted home. City's two unlikely wicket takers were Arnie and Timmsy.
